TIM MURTAGH PRESENTED WITH CAREER PHOTO MONTAGE DURING LUNCH INTERVAL TODAY

Today, during the lunch interval at Lord's, Tim Murtagh was presented with a photo montage of the best moments of his career by his former playing teammates and close friends Steven Finn and Ben Scott.

The montage, was pulled together by Angus Fraser, a man who has worked alongside Murtagh throughout the entirety of his Middlesex career. Fraser then presented Murtagh with a bottle of champagne and a gift from all at Marylebone Cricket Club, who congratulated Murtagh on an outstanding career.

Graham Woodward, over the Lord's PA system, read the following words...

"Earlier this week, Tim Murtagh announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket at the end of the 2023 season. Tim made his debut for Middlesex in 2007, has made a massive 358(9) appearances for the Club, and before this current match taken 1007 wickets.

"In nine separate seasons he has taken more than 50 First-Class wickets for Middlesex, with the 85 he took in 2011 being the best season of his career. He has taken five wickets in a First-Class innings on 35 separate occasions for the Club and ten wickets in a match five times.

"He played in the two promotion winning campaigns in 2011 and in 2022, the T20 winning campaign of 2008, and played a leading role in Middlesex’s County Championship title success of 2016.

"Middlesex want to take this opportunity to thank Tim for all his performances and efforts over the years, in front of his home supporters, friends and family here at Lord’s and to mark this occasion have asked two former team mates and good friends of Tim’s, Steven Finn and Ben Scott, to present him with a memento of his career. The MCC have also recognised Tim’s achievements as a player and presented Tim with a gift on behalf of the club and to thank him for all the enjoyment he has provided MCC and its members during his career at Lord’s
