ISHAAN KAUSHAL SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION UNTIL 2026

ISHAAN KAUSHAL EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH MIDDLESEX CRICKET

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that young right-arm seamer, Ishaan Kaushal, has extended his contract with the Club until at least the end of 2026.

Hillingdon-born Kaushal, 21, has one year remaining on his PCA rookie contract at the Club, however, has extended his contract on professional terms for a further two years upon completion of his rookie deal at the end of 2024.

Kaushal, a product of the Middlesex Academy, who plays his Club cricket at Wycombe House Cricket Club, was first awarded a rookie contact in July 2021, with high hopes for him to play a part in Middlesex’s Royal London Cup later that season before a pelvic injury cruelly ruled him out of action.

Later that year his rookie terms were extended until the end of the 2022 season, and in mid-2022 had his rookie contract further extended until the end of 2024.

In August 2023 Kaushal made his professional debut for the Club against Essex at Chelmsford and appeared five times in Middlesex’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign last year, picking up three wickets in the competition.

Speaking of Kaushal extending his contract with the Club and committing his playing future until the end of 2026, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“We are thrilled with the progress that Ishaan continues to make, and he is fast becoming a player that will challenge for a regular place in our playing group.

“It’s always hugely satisfying when you see a product of your own academy developing into a fine young cricketer, and Ishaan has all the attributes needed to become a fine pace bowler in years to come.

“He works hard at his game and is keen to learn from the more senior players within the group, which will stand him in terrific stead moving forward.

“He made an encouraging start to life a first eleven cricketer in 2023 and we are very much looking forward to seeing his game continue to develop over the next three years.”

Speaking himself on being awarded his first professional contract, Ishaan Kaushal himself, said:

“I am incredibly happy and grateful to sign an extension with Middlesex - my childhood club.

“I’ve been here since I was 12 and it’s a dream come true to play at Lord’s.

“Hopefully I can contribute to the Club’s successes this season and beyond.”
