Congratulations to Middlesex’s very own Max Holden who has been called up to represent England Lions in their upcoming matches against India ‘A’.
This is just reward for Holden’s fine start to the season, which saw the 27-year-old yield 663 runs in the opening seven matches at an average of 47.35. In the opening block of fixtures, the left-hander struck two centuries and as many centuries, with a best-score of 184 coming in the season opener against Lancashire at Lord’s.
England Lions will take on India ‘A’ in two four-day matches at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury and the County Ground in Northampton respectively, in preparation for the upcoming men’s Rothesay Test Series between England and India which begins at Headingley on Friday 20 June.
Holden will miss the beginning of our Vitality Blast campaign, which gets underway tomorrow with the men’s game forming part of a double-header against Sussex Sharks at Lord's.
