This match forms part of a double-header clash at Lord's to kick the competition off, with Middlesex Women playing the same opposition beforehand (2.15pm start).
The Seaxes will be looking to push for a knockout spot in 2025 after a disappointing campaign in 2024, in which they only won three matches and finished eighth in the South Group.
We welcome New Zealand international and one of the best players of this current generation, Kane Williamson, who is set to make his highly anticipated debut. The 34-year-old batter has scored over 6,500 runs in T20 cricket with a best-score of 101 not out.
Spinner, Luke Hollman, will be looking to build on the 23 wickets he took last term, which saw him finish the fifth-highest wicket taker in the competition. Blake Cullen was the highest wicket-taker amongst the seamers.
Wicketkeeper-batter, Jack Davies, scored 214 runs in the competition last year and will be hoping to improve this year.
Middlesex will be without both Max Holden and Josh Little for tomorrow’s match. Holden has been called up to the England Lions for their two four-day matches against India ‘A’, whilst Josh Little sustained a niggle during Ireland’s One-Day International series against West Indies which has ruled him out this week.
Our visitors, Sussex Sharks, are one of the most formidable sides in the competition and come into 2025 having reached the semi-finals at Edgbaston last year.
They will be captained by former England international and franchise stalwart, Tymal Mills. Overseas players available include Australians Daniel Hughes and Nathan McAndrew.
Tomorrow sees the start of back-to-back-to-back home fixtures, with us welcoming both Sussex Sharks and Kent Spitfires (Thursday 5th June) to Lord’s, whilst Glamorgan visit Merchant Taylors’ School on Sunday for another double-header – forming part of the Club’s family day.
