SQUAD & PREVIEW | MIDDLESEX WOMEN V GLOUCESTERSHIRE | METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP

MIDDLESEX WOMEN NAME SQUAD OF 13 FOR METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP CLASH WITH GLOUCESTERSHIRE AT RADLETT

Middlesex Women return to Metro Bank One-Day Cup action tomorrow, as they host Gloucestershire at Radlett Cricket Club.

With three wins from three in the competition, Middlesex sit top of the table as the only unbeaten side, and will be looking to extend that run tomorrow, before a break from 50-over cricket.

Head Coach, Marc Broom, has named a squad of 13 for the clash, with three changes from the side that defeated Northamptonshire Steelbacks, as Gaya Gole, Sonali Patel, and Bex Tyson all return to the squad.

Artemis Downer retains her place after two solid performances with the bat in her first competitive matches of the season, scoring 47 in the victory over Northamptonshire, and 30 in the Vitality T20 County Cup loss to Kent.

That 20-over encounter also saw Finty Trussler register her second half-century of the season, and her first in the shorter format – form she will be looking to carry into tomorrow’s contest.

After a five-wicket defeat against Kent in our T20 County Cup opener, Middlesex will be aiming to bounce back and maintain their perfect record in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. This will be our final 50-over match until August, as the Vitality Blast gets underway on 29 May with a double-header against Sussex Sharks at Lord's. We'll return to One-Day Cup action on 2 August, with a crunch match against title rivals, Yorkshire, at Headingly.

Our most recent One-Day Cup victory came against Northamptonshire, when we chased down 145 in 33.3 overs with four wickets to spare, putting us four points clear of second-place Yorkshire.

Gloucestershire, meanwhile, also head into the fixture off the back of an opening round Vitality T20 County Cup defeat, having lost to Glamorgan by 33 runs. In the One-Day Cup, they currently sit eighth in the standings, having opened with a win over Derbyshire before suffering defeats to Northamptonshire, by 34 runs, and Glamorgan, by a heavy 227-run margin.

The Middlesex squad to face them is as follows:

Play gets underway at 10:30 at Radlett, and it would be great to see as many members and supporters as possible supporting the team as they look to make it four from four.

If you can’t make it in person, you can follow the match via Middlesex’s live stream on the Club’s website or YouTube channel, with full coverage available in the Match Centre.
