Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has launched their Young Female Broadcaster of the Year competition for 2025.
Following the success of its inaugural year, MCC, Sky Sports and Take Her Lead, have announced the return of the Young Female Broadcaster of the Year competition, attempting to uncover the next generation of female cricket broadcasting talent.
The Young Female Broadcaster of the Year competition initiative aims to increase opportunities for young women looking to forge a career in the cricket media, specifically in broadcasting. All you have to do is upload a short showreel of you presenting – it could be a match commentary, match report, video blog or interview.
A judging panel made up of current broadcasters, representatives from MCC, Sky Sports, and chaired by Isa Guha on behalf of Take Her Lead will choose a winner and five shortlisted runners-up who will be invited to Lord’s for England’s Metro Bank Women’s One-Day International against India on Saturday 19 July. During the day, the runners-up and winner will have unique access to the Barclays Media Centre and the chance to meet some of the professional broadcasters at work.
The prize for the winner is to be part of the Sky Sports team for their live broadcast coverage at The Hundred Final at Lord’s on Sunday 31 August as well as a trip to the Sky headquarters to meet and see productions teams in action and learn more about what goes into live broadcasting.
This competition is organised by MCC. More details about this initiative and how to enter can be found HERE.
