Middlesex in the Community (MITC) will host a grounds management session at Middlesex Cricket’s new venue, the QEII Ground at Swncombe Avenue on Monday 23 June.
The session, which runs from 3pm-6pm, will include expert presentations on:
Hybrid Pitches – Technical discussion covering the pros, cons, agronomic impact and practical considerations
Robotic Outfield Mowers – Live demonstration of the AMS machine (and product comparison with Kress) on-site, with insight into performance, maintenance and long-term financial benefits
End-of-Season Renovation – Guidance from CPAs and renovation processes, products and key planning considerations as well as how Battersby Ground Sipplies offer buying power discounts for Middlesex clubs
The event will also showcase Middlesex Cricket’s recent ECB-supported fine turf construction project at QEII Ground (Swyncombe Avenue) – featuring a newly installed elite square, outfield, irrigation system, and borehole – all designed to support the growth of women’s and girls’ cricket.
We’ll share our learnings and process throughout the day and how we plan to integrate SiS Grass hybrid pitches into the plan, as well as the learnings (grass health, financial, and user habits) of having only cut the outfield exclusively with robotic mowers since first seeding in September 2024.
We will have discussions with Josh Knappett, Tom Huson, and CPA’s lead by Raj Nath – plus the in-room experience sharing opportunity from those who attend.
We hope to see you there for what promises to be an informative and collaborative afternoon.
Turn up on the day, however, please do help us plan by clicking HERE to register your interest. And so we can keep you up to date if any other guests or companies are able to present at the session on these topics too.
