SQUAD & PREVIEW | MIDDLESEX V KENT | VITALITY BLAST

MIDDLESEX NAME SQUAD OF 14 FOR THIRD VITALITY BLAST CLASH OF THE SEASON AT LORD'S AGAINST KENT SPITFIRES

Middlesex First Team Coach Richard Johnson has named a squad of 14 for tomorrow's third Vitality Blast clash of the season against Kent Spitfires at Lord's.

Ireland international quick, Josh Little, comes into the squad having missed out on the opening two clashes of the campaign with a niggle - picked up on international duty with Ireland when playing against the West Indies. Left-armer Little will be in line to make his Middlesex debut tomorrow and will be keen to make an immediate impact on his first appearance with the Club.

The match will be televised live on Sky Sports Cricket from 6.10pm, and gets underway at 6.15pm.

Middlesex come into the game looking for their first win of the campaign, having lost their opening two encounters, against Sussex Sharks at Lord's last Thursday, and against Glamorgan at Merchant Taylors' School on Sunday.

Against Sussex, a blistering knock of 77 from 44 from James Coles took the game away from Middlesex, as the Sharks racked up a total of 202 batting first. A fine 51 from Ben Geddes and a swashbuckling 44 from just 16 deliveries from Ryan Higgins got their side close in the chase, although it was not to be, as Sussex ran out winners by 16 runs.

Against Glamorgan, both sides struggled to come to terms with a lively surface in Northwood, although it was the visitors who came off the better of the two, on a deck that offered lots of assistance to both pace and spin attacks. Batting first Middlesex could only post a total of 124 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Kane Williamson top-scoring with 28. In reply, an inspired spell from Tom Helm, who took 3 for 29, had the visitors on the back foot and in trouble at 64 for 5, before they fought back to get over the line, reaching their victory target inside 15 overs.

Kent have only played once in the Blast this term, when they ran out winners against Gloucestershire in Bristol. Batting first, the Spitfires had the experienced T20 pairing of Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly to thank for a total of 208 for 3, as Bell-Drummond's 60 from 38 balls and Denly's 48 off 24 balls were the mainstay of the innings. In reply Kent were run close, as Gloucestershire fell just four runs short in their chase, finishing on 204 for 7.

Middlesex have named the following fourteen-man squad for tomorrow's clash:

Middlesex will not be producing a live stream of the game tomorrow, as Sky Cricket will be televising the fixture live.
