D40 SECOND ELEVEN REACH NATIONAL SEMI-FINALS

Congratulations to our D40 Second Eleven who have secured their place in the Pursuit League semi-finals.

Qualification comes after a five-wicket win over London rivals Surrey at William Perkin School yesterday.

Bowling first, Haroon Rashid was the pick of the bowlers – claiming figures of 3/27 off six overs. Abhay Sharma (2/12), Fraser Church (2/29) and Andy Hill (2/30) all chipped in with a couple of wickets and Matthew Dix picked up a scalp also as Surrey were dismissed for 163.

Rashid was the star with the bat also, top-scoring with 38 as we chased down the target with plenty of time left in the game.

Neil Magdani (22 not out) and Aryan Janjale (12) also made double figures on the way to booking ourselves into the knockouts.

Commenting on reaching the next stage, Head of Disability Cricket, Andy Hill, said:

“It is always great to see our disability squads reach national semi-finals. It is particularly exciting too to see our Super 9s in their final too.

“With our Second Eleven reaching the knockout stages, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to showcase the development that has taken place within this group.

“This group in particular have played some really impressive cricket so far this summer and we’re looking forward to testing ourselves against the best from around the country.”
