A number of Middlesex youngsters have enjoyed individual success over the last couple of weeks with four players scoring centuries.
In the weekend just gone, under-11 wicketkeeper-batter, Aveer Nagpal, bludgeoned 117 off just 61 balls, striking 15 fours and a six as Middlesex made 201/4 in their T20 clash against Northamptonshire at Merchant Taylors’ School.
His teammates bowled well collectively and restricted Northamptonshire to 100/9 in their 20 overs – registering a comprehensive victory.
Anay Maheshwari recorded the biggest score of the four, notching an unbeaten 120 for the under-18s opening the batting against Norfolk at Merchant Taylors’ School in the opening round of their County Cup.
In his 134-ball knock, he found the boundary 13 times as we chased the required 252 with more than eight overs to spare.
For the under-16s, Ryaan Hussain scored an unbeaten 113 also opening the batting in their County Cup clash against Haberdashers’. He struck nine fours and a six as Middlesex closed the 50 overs on 275/9, however it wasn’t to be as Surrey came out on top in a thriller, winning by one wicket.
In the under-13s, Captain, Dwij Upadhyay, made 115 before his side were dismissed for 241 inside 40 overs against Hertfordshire – finding the boundary an impressive 18 times.
Middlesex defended this score easily as Hertfordshire were dismissed for 136 within 26 overs.
