On Sunday, three Middlesex County Age Group players enjoyed individual successes helping their sides to dominant victories.
For the Under 13s, Morley Southern excelled with the ball, taking six wickets against Surrey. Southern took three wickets in his third over, all of them bowled, before completing his fiver-fer in his fifth over. He claimed one more victim in his seventh over to finish with figures of 7-1-21-6. His side went on to complete a seven-wicket victory over their London rivals, chasing down the target of 85 in 23 overs.
There was another five-fer, this time in the Under 14s, with Roman Razik starring with the ball. Opening the bowling for his side, he struck in the first over. He took three wickets in his opening spell, before coming back 19 overs later, and picking up two more in the first over of his second spell. He finished with figures of 8-1-19-5, as his side dismissed Suffolk for 92. The total was chased down in just 5.4 overs, as Middlesex secured a 10-wicket victory.
Rayansh Kaul struck a century in the Under 15s as his side defeated Sussex by 77 runs. Kaul was called to the crease in the 14th over with his side 71/3, having lost a flurry of wickets. After playing himself in, he began to find the boundary regularly. His century came up in the 47th over. He was eventually dismissed for 111. His knock consisted of 108 balls with 13 fours. His side managed 310, which proved to be too much for Sussex as they were dismissed for 233, Middlesex winning by 77 runs.
It has been extremely pleasing to see so many young players perform strongly this year and we hope for more individual success before the season comes to an end.
