Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that right-arm quick, Nathan Gilchrist, will join the Club on loan from Kent for the remainder of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.
Harare-born, Gilchrist, 25, has been a Kent player since 2020, made his List-A debut for the Canterbury-based side in 2021, and has since made 27 appearances in the 50-over competition, taking 28 wickets, including best figures of 5 for 45.
In 2022 he played a big part in Kent winning the Royal London Cup, taking 14 wickets in the competition, including 3 for 65 in the final against Lancashire at Trent Bridge.
He joins Middlesex immediately and will be available for Middlesex’s trip to Durham in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup tomorrow and will be available for five of the Club’s remaining six 50-over matches, only unable to play in the fixture against Kent at Radlett on 19th August.
Speaking of Gilchrist joining the Club for the remainder of the 50-over campaign, Alan Coleman, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, commented:
“With a number of our pace bowling unit currently out with injuries and others returning to fitness, it’s important that we manage the workloads of the quick bowlers in the squad.
“Adding someone of Nathan’s quality allows us to do that and we are delighted to have added him to the pace ranks.
“He adds genuine pace, plenty of experience, and gives our attack something different, as we look to build on a promising performance and victory against Sussex at Lord’s on Sunday.
“Our thanks go to our colleagues at Kent for allowing us to take Nathan on loan for the remainder of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign and we look forward to welcoming him to Middlesex.”
