After triumphing in the Vitality Blast, Middlesex Women return to Metro Bank One-Day Cup action tomorrow, as they take on Yorkshire at Headingley.
Head Coach, Marc Broom, has named a squad of 13 for the clash, with Hong Kong international, Natasha Miles, included in the group for the first time this season.
Having been crowned the inaugural Women’s Vitality Blast League Two champions last week, Middlesex will be looking to carry that momentum into the 50-over competition, picking up where they left off, unbeaten at the top of the table with four wins from four.
Last time out in the One-Day Cup, back in May, Middlesex produced a dominant 208-run victory over Gloucestershire at Radlett. Artemis Downer and Finty Trussler both struck centuries, while Gaya Gole claimed standout figures of 5/27. Both Downer and Trussler feature among the top ten leading run-scorers in the competition, while Gole currently tops the wicket-taking charts.
With five matches still to play, Middlesex are the only side yet to taste defeat. Yorkshire, however, sit close behind in second place, four points adrift, having won three of their four matches so far. Their only loss came in the opening round, falling to Worcestershire by 114 runs. Since then, they’ve delivered convincing wins against Sussex, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.
In their match against Derbyshire, Ami Campbell posted the highest individual score of the competition so far, finishing unbeaten on 165. She leads the run-scoring charts, while teammates, Maddie Ward and Claudie Cooper, are amongst the leading wicket-takers.
Middlesex and Yorkshire met just last week in the Vitality Blast League Two Final at Northampton, which has been the only meeting between the sides so far this season. Despite Yorkshire going into the game as favourites after a flawless group-stage campaign, Middlesex produced a dominant all-round display to win by ten wickets. After restricting Yorkshire to 101/9, openers Issy Routledge and Finty Trussler chased down the target in just 13.1 overs. Trussler sealed the win with a boundary to bring up her second half-century of the day and take Middlesex to 103/0.
It was Yorkshire’s first loss of the competition, having won all eight group matches and their semi-final against Glamorgan. With Tier One status already assured for 2026, they will no doubt provide another tough test tomorrow, as the two sides meet again at the historic ground.
They will, however, be without Sterre Kalis, Beth Langston, Rachel Slater and club captain, Lauren Winfield-Hill, all of whom are involved in the Hundred, which begins next week.
