Middlesex Cricket are proud to announce that four of the Club's young stars have been named in England's Under 19 squads to face Ireland in a one-off Youth ODI at Loughborough and the forthcoming five match Youth ODI series against Bangladesh, at Loughborough, Bristol and Beckenham.
Jamie Feldman, James Isbell, Seb Morgan and Jack Nelson have all been named in the squad, with both Feldman and Nelson set to make their international Under 19 debuts if they get to play a part in the series.
Right-arm seamer Feldman, 17, made his Middlesex debut earlier this summer in the Club's final Vitality Blast match of the campaign against Glamorgan in mid-July, having been awarded a rookie contract that month until the end of the year. He impressed on his first senior appearance for the Club, taking two wickets in the game to dismiss Glamorgan's two highest scorers, Kiran Carlson and Ben Kellaway. This opened up more opportunities for him in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign, when he made a further three appearances in August. Another two wickets on his List-A debut in the victory over Sussex at Lord's, when he returned figures of 2 for 36 from nine overs and another in the high-scoring thriller at Durham saw him pick up a total of three wickets in the three 50-over games he played, impressing with his control and calm under pressure.
Like Feldman, 2025 has been a breakthrough year for Seb Morgan, who turned 18 at the weekend, and has benefitted from being around the Club's first team squad since signing pro terms at the end of the last year. He made his first eleven debut for the Club in July in the Vitality Blast, and mirroring Feldman, didn't look out of place, taking two wickets on debut in our victory against Gloucestershire at Merchant Taylors' School. He followed this up with four List-A appearances in August, in which he picked up seven wickets, including a three wicket haul on debut against Kent at Radlett, one wicket in each of the games against Northamptonshire and Lancashire, and then two wickets against Hampshire in the quarter-final defeat at Radlett last week.
Neither Isbell nor Nelson have yet to feature for the Club's first eleven, however have both been hugely influential in the Club's EPG programme and have made meaningful contributions in the Club's Second Eleven matches.
Isbell, also 18, has prior England Under 19 experience, when he represented his country against Ireland in 2024 and India in 2025, each time with much success. Against Ireland, he hit an unbeaten 45* on debut at Loughborough, as England romped to a nine wickets victory, before then hitting 77 against the same opponent at the same venue on just his second appearance for the young Lions.
Nelson, 17, and the youngest of the group, despite only playing five Second Eleven Championship matches to date, has already clocked up three half-centuries in his short time stepping up, and he'll be relishing the opportunity to mirror the efforts of his Middlesex teammates on the Under 19 international stage over the coming weeks.
