SQUAD & PREVIEW | MIDDLESEX WOMEN V YORKSHIRE | METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP SEMI-FINAL

MIDDLESEX WOMEN NAME SQUAD OF 13 FOR METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP SEMI-FINAL AGAINST YORKSHIRE AT RADLETT

Middlesex Women host Yorkshire tomorrow in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup semi-final at Radlett Cricket Club, with a place in next Sunday’s Final at Visit Worcestershire New Road on the line.

Head Coach, Marc Broom, has named a squad of 13 for the occasion, with two changes from last week’s victory over Worcestershire Rapids, as Anaya Patel and Lauren Turner return to the group.

That win at Merchant Taylors’ sealed a perfect group stage for us, with nine wins from nine. Middlesex bowled Worcestershire out for 177, thanks to standout spells from Hannah Davis (4/42) and Katie Wolfe (3/26), before rain interrupted the chase. Artemis Downer top-scored with 44, while captain Saskia Horley finished unbeaten on 32 as Middlesex reached 145/5 in 28 overs, securing a 40-run win via DLS.

The result meant Middlesex topped the table by eight points, setting up a semi-final against fourth-placed Yorkshire, who won five of their nine matches. Most recently, Yorkshire produced a thumping 279-run victory away at Kent, with Lauren Winfield-Hill smashing 194 from 126 balls, supported by Erin Thomas’ 54 and Maddie Ward’s 69.

Tomorrow’s fixture will be the third meeting between the two sides this season. Back in July, Middlesex defeated Yorkshire by ten wickets in the Vitality Blast League Two Final at Northampton to lift the trophy, while in the 50-over competition, we edged a thrilling contest at Headingley by just seven runs last month.

The other semi-final, between Glamorgan and Northamptonshire, takes place today at Sophia Gardens, with the winners of both ties meeting in next Sunday’s Final at New Road.

Play is scheduled to begin at 10:30am at Radlett, with entry free for all spectators. Having already lifted the Vitality Blast trophy this summer, Middlesex will now be aiming to complete an incredible double by adding the 50-over trophy, and we’d love to see as many members and supporters as possible to cheer them on for one last time at Radlett, after what has been a remarkable season.

For those unable to attend, the match will be live streamed on the Club’s website and YouTube channel, with full coverage available in the Match Centre and across our social media channels.
