DU PLOOY NAMED IN PCA TEAM OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

Congratulations to Middlesex men’s captain, Leus du Plooy, who has been named in the PCA Team of the Month for September, powered by OFX.

Du Plooy had a strong finish to the 2025 season, scoring 395 runs in the final month – including 105 against his former county, Derbyshire, and a career-best score of 263 in last week’s win over Gloucestershire at Lord’s.

This score of 263 against Gloucestershire was the sixth highest in the Club’s first-class history and was the second highest-ever individual Middlesex score in first-class cricket at Lord’s, only behind Patsy Hendren, who made an unbeaten 277 against Kent in 1922.

In 2025, du Plooy amassed 1,009 runs in 13 Championship matches – averaging 56.05, notching three centuries and a further five fifties.

The 30-year-old was named as captain of the County Championship side in early July, and the side went unbeaten in the latter stages of the summer in red-ball cricket under his leadership.

He is the third player to be named in the PCA Team of the Month after Zafar Gohar and Max Holden were in the April team.
