Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that Caleb Falconer has signed his first rookie contract at the Club until at least the end of the 2027 season.
South Africa-born Falconer, 19, is a promising all-rounder who has shown huge potential at both Academy and Second Eleven level.
In 2024, he won the Club’s men’s Youth Player of the Year award, having scored 670 runs in the ECB’s Under 18s County Championship – notching three hundreds and as many half-centuries – with a best score of 224 against Sussex.
In Second Eleven cricket, he struck 130 against Lancashire in the 2024 Second Eleven Championship, which was later followed by 62 and 45 not out in the same match against Worcestershire’s Second Eleven.
Falconer is one of three Middlesex players currently with the Young Lions, who are touring the Caribbean as England Under 19s play Youth One-Day Internationals against United States and West Indies.
Speaking of his first rookie contract, Caleb Falconer said:
“Signing my first professional cricket contract is a moment you dream about as a kid, endlessly hitting balls and imagining what could be.
“I owe so much to my dad for guiding me, pushing me and always believing in me, and my family for their constant support. This milestone belongs to all of us.”
Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, added:
“We were delighted to offer Caleb Falconer his first rookie contract.
“This contract is testament to the hard work that he has put into his cricket career so far and also to our pathway coaches who have helped him get to this stage.
“Caleb spent some time around the First Eleven dressing room this summer, familiarising himself with the environment and soaking up knowledge from senior members of the professional squad.
“He is such a talented young cricketer, who often plays beyond his years and will hopefully be one to keep an eye on for many years to come.”
