JOSH DE CAIRES SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION UNTIL AT LEAST END OF 2027

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that batter, Josh De Caires, has signed a contract extension, meaning that he will remain at the Club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

De Caires, 23, impressed in red-ball cricket this summer having scored 346 runs in five matches at an average of 43.25 and recorded four half-centuries.

He also made a mark in second team cricket this year too, having scored three centuries in this year’s Second Eleven Championship – with a best score of 194 coming against Glamorgan at Radlett.

In addition to his fine form in red-ball cricket, De Caires also made an impact in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, scoring three half-centuries, with a high-score of 71 – helping the Club qualify for the knockout stages.

With the ball, De Caires is solid spin option and has taken 62 professional wickets, with best figures of 8/103 coming against Essex during a County Championship match in 2023.

Earlier this year, he captained a representative Professional County Club XI to victory over Zimbabwe, where he himself scored 84 and 79.

Speaking of his contract extension, De Caires said:

“I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent Middlesex.

“I look forward to trying my best contribute towards success for the Club next year and beyond.”

Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman added:

“We are thrilled to have Josh with us for at least the next two years.

“Josh was highly sought after among the other Professional County Clubs, so we are delighted that he has committed his future to Middlesex.

“He has come on leaps and bounds this summer and can hopefully use this as a springboard for further success in the seasons to come.”
