SAM ROBSON SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION UNTIL AT LEAST END OF 2027 SEASON

Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that batter Sam Robson has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Robson, 36, scored one century in the Rothesay County Championship last summer – adding to the 36 he had notched previously – to go along with his three fifties. In all, he scored 497 runs at an average of 29.23.

During last summer’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup, he amassed 502 runs at an average of 62.75 with his best score of 169 not out coming in the record-breaking run chase against Durham last August when the Club chased 388 at the Banks Homes Riverside.

Since making his debut in 2008, he has scored more than 13,000 runs for Middlesex and is currently 19th in the list of highest run-scorers for the Club.

Robson also holds international honours, having played seven Test matches for England in 2014. In addition, he was part of the squad that won the 2016 County Championship and was awarded a testimonial year by the Club in 2025.

Speaking of his contract extension, Sam Robson said:

“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract with Middlesex. I love being a Middlesex player and playing for such a famous club at Lord’s has always meant a lot to me.

"I’m excited about what lies ahead over the next couple of years and am confident it can be a successful period for the club.”

Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, added:

“We are thrilled to have Sam with us for at least another two summers.

“He has been a great servant of this Club over many years and there are still plenty of runs to come in both red and white-ball cricket.

“The experience and knowledge he brings to the dressing room is invaluable, and with a number of young players in the squad, he will pass that on to the new faces coming through helping them grow.”
