Middlesex Cricket can today announce that the Club will play two fixtures at Wormsley Estate this summer against Bucks Cricket and MCC.
The Men’s First Eleven will play Bucks Cricket on Thursday 2nd July in a NCCA showcase fixture, whilst the Second Eleven will take on a MCC XI a week later (Thursday 9th July).
In addition to the two fixtures, Middlesex's men will also utilise the facility for training on a couple of occasions during 2026.
This news comes following the release of MCC’s cricket strategy earlier today which outlines that there will be a pilot at Wormsley as the current demand on the main ground at Lord’s is unsustainable.
It must be noted that this arrangement does not impact on any Middlesex matches and the Club is committed to playing outground cricket at Merchant Taylors’ School, Radlett Cricket Club and Richmond Cricket Club.
Our Men’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign gets underway on Tuesday 21st July when Essex visit Radlett Cricket Club, where there will be three group matches on top of the clash against Yorkshire at Lord’s in early August.
Speaking of the matches at Wormsley Estate, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket Alan Coleman said:
“We are delighted to be helping our friends and long-term partners at MCC. This is an exciting venture and one that we are happy to get behind.
“Wormsley is a top cricket facility and one that players at all levels of the game love playing at, so for our players to have the opportunity to play there will be fantastic.
“The two matches that Middlesex will play shall provide valuable 50-over practice for our squad ahead of the One-Day Cup campaign, which gets underway a few weeks after.”
