RYAN HIGGINS SIGNS LONG-TERM CONTRACT EXTENSION

Middlesex Cricket is pleased to announce that Ryan Higgins has signed a long-term contract extension at the Club.

All-rounder Higgins, 31, has been prolific for Middlesex with both bat and ball over a number of years since his return to Lord’s at the end of the 2022 season.

During Middlesex’s County Championship Division One campaign in 2023, Higgins was the Club’s leading run-scorer with 955 runs at an average of 41.52 – recording a century and eight fifties. In addition, he claimed 31 wickets at an average of 27.51.

The following year he amassed 1,133 runs in the Championship at an average of 70.81 with a best score of 221 against Glamorgan at Lord’s in the season opener. He went on record another hundred and five half-centuries during that summer to go along with 30 wickets at 28.60.

Higgins impressed with the ball last summer claiming 42 wickets at an average of 25.73 – taking best figures of 5/59 against Glamorgan.

Speaking of his contract extension, Ryan Higgins commented:

"I’m really happy to have committed to playing for Middlesex for the foreseeable future.

"It’s an honour to be a part of the team that gave me my first opportunity in professional cricket.

"I’m looking forward to repaying the faith shown in me and helping the team move forward in the coming seasons."

Middlesex’s Director of Cricket Alan Coleman added:

“Ryan is a quality cricketer – regarded as one of the best all-rounders in the country – and has been a top performer for a number of years now.

"Offering strong options with both bat and ball, he is an ever-reliable member of our squad, and we are thrilled to have him with us for the foreseeable future."
