At the start of the lunch interval on April 11th, Middlesex captain, Leus du Plooy, was presented with his Middlesex County Cap.
Receiving your County cap is one of the highlights of a professional cricketer’s career, and Middlesex Cricket are delighted to be able to award a county cap to Leus du Plooy. Naynesh Desai, the Middlesex President, presented the cap to Leus in front of the pavilion.
Du Plooy joined the club in 2024 from Derbyshire and quickly became a key member of the playing squad, featuring 48 times for the Seaxes in all competitions. Leus has amassed 2175 first-class runs, with five centuries and one double-century in his time with the club. In June 2025, Leus was appointed as captain of the men’s side in all competitions.
