Women’s Head Coach, Marc Broom, has named a 13-player squad for tomorrow’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Worcestershire Rapids at Radlett CC.
Middlesex head into the fixture off the back of a 53-run win against Kent last weekend and will be looking to continue their winning form.
The sides last met in August, with Middlesex claiming a 40-run victory via the DLS method. Artemis Downer starred with the bat in that encounter, striking seven fours in an impressive innings.
There are six changes to the side from last weekend’s victory over Kent, with Abbie Whybrow missing through injury, and Pippa Sproul back behind the stumps as wicketkeeper.
Riva Pindoria and Saskia Horley could open the batting after building a strong partnership at the top of the order in recent matches. Horley has been one of Middlesex’s key run scorers this season, while Pindoria has provided solidity in the powerplay.
Artemis Downer is likely to bat in the top four, with Finty Trussler and Alice Whitmore strengthening the middle order. Trussler has regularly provided late acceleration with the bat, while Sproul could slot into the lower middle order to finish the innings if required.
Rachana Cambampaty and Layla Judge are among the six players returning to the squad this weekend.
With the ball, Middlesex are likely to open with seamer Sarah Pearson, who has impressed with the new ball this season. Horley is expected to lead the spin options through the middle overs.
