Men’s Head Coach Peter Fulton has named a squad of 13 for this weekend’s Rothesay County Championship clash against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford.
Josh de Caires misses out this week, which will open an opportunity for either Caleb Falconer or Luke Hollman to come into the lineup. Fulton might look to Max Holden to open the batting with Sam Robson, as he has done in previous years. Joe Cracknell will once again keep wicket.
Fulton will have plenty of seamers to choose from to make up his attack, with Eathan Bosch, Caleb Falconer, Ryan Higgins, Sebastian Morgan, Toby Roland-Jones and Naavya Sharma all making the trip to Manchester.
Zafar Gohar will lead the spin attack. Should Luke Hollman make the playing XI, he’ll be able to offer support. With Old Trafford often being a spinner-friendly surface, we may have our first glimpses of Sam Robson and Leus du Plooy with the ball in their hands in 2026.
Middlesex head into this fixture following a draw with Durham at the Home of Cricket last weekend. Ryan Higgins was the standout player in that one, striking a century and taking four wickets.
The hosts head into the game with two wins and a draw from their opening four games, which sees them sitting third in the Division Two table. Jimmy Anderson is Lancashire’s leading wicket-taker with 23 to his name so far. Marcus Harris tops the run charts with 360.
The Rothesay County Championship Division Two table currently stands as follows:
