Men’s Head Coach, Peter Fulton, has named a squad of 13 for this weekend’s Rothesay County Championship clash against Derbyshire at Lord’s.
There is one change from last weekend’s six-wicket victory over Lancashire, as Joe Cracknell misses out due to a finger injury; he is replaced by Harry Duke, who joined the club on loan from Yorkshire last weekend.
It was a famous victory at Emirates Old Trafford last weekend for Middlesex. Leus du Plooy and Ben Geddes starred with the bat in that one, both striking half-centuries; however, it was a weekend dominated by seam in Manchester, as Middlesex’s four quicks, Ryan Higgins, Sebastian Morgan, Toby Roland-Jones and Naavya Sharma dominated Lancashire’s batters.
Derbyshire head into the fixture off the back of a thrilling innings victory over Northamptonshire in Derby last weekend. Former Middlesex man, Martin Andersson, took the final wicket with eleven overs remaining in the match. Andersson leads the run charts for the Falcons, striking 472 so far this season. Ben Aitchison tops the wickets charts with 20.
Last week’s results see Middlesex sat second in the Division Two table. Middlesex will be looking to remain in the promotion places as we break from Championship cricket after this game. The full table can be seen below:
