Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that Jack Nelson has been awarded a professional rookie contract with the club until the end of the 2028 season.
Nelson, who first joined the club as an eight-year-old in 2015, will go straight into our squad for our Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Hampshire in Southampton tomorrow.
Last week, the leg-spinning all-rounder scored a century for England U19s in their test match against South Africa at Beckenham. He also performed well with the ball, taking five wickets in the match.
Nelson made his first appearance for Middlesex’s second eleven in 2024, and has featured 12 times since across all formats.
On signing his rookie contract, Jack Nelson said:
"I am incredibly proud and honoured to have signed for Middlesex County Cricket Club, a club that I have represented since I was eight years old.
“To have the opportunity to play for a club with such a rich history and one that means so much to me personally is very special.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported my journey so far, including the Academy coaches who have been so supportive throughout.
“I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to contributing to the club's future successes both on and off the field."

“This contract is testament to the hard work that he has put into his cricket career so far and also to our pathway coaches who have helped him get to this stage.
“I would like to congratulate all those involved in our player pathway, including Mark Lane and Sanjay Patel, Richmond CC and Mark Ramprakash at Harrow School who have all played a major role in helping Jack become the player that he is today.
“He is an extremely talented young cricketer, and will hopefully be one to keep an eye on for many years to come.”
