Men’s Head Coach Peter Fulton has named an unchanged squad of 14 for tomorrow’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Glamorgan at Radlett Cricket Club.
Middlesex will likely open up again with Nathan Fernandes and Josh de Caires, both of whom have impressed in the first two games of the competition. Fernandes scored his maiden List A century on Tuesday against Radlett, and scored 45 in Southampton on Friday. De Caires scored 75 with the bat in Southampton; however, it was his bowling figures of 6/35 which stole the show on the South Coast.
Henry Brookes has impressed with the ball in the early stages; although he has only claimed two wickets so far, his economy of 4 has allowed Middlesex to pile on pressure to the opposition. Naavya Sharma has been solid at the death, with all four of his wickets in the competition coming off the last two deliveries of each match.
These two sides last met in this format at Lord’s in 2019. Middlesex came out on top in that one with a five-wicket victory. Glamorgan, the 2024 winners of the One-Day Cup, have won one and lost one so far this campaign. Eddie Byrom impressed at the top of the order on Friday, with his knock of 68, in their two-wicket defeat to Yorkshire. In their opening game of the competition, Jack Bell and Alex Horton both scored centuries to help their side defeat Gloucestershire.
