Men’s Head Coach Peter Fulton has named an unchanged squad of 14 for tomorrow’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Worcestershire Rapids at New Road.
Middlesex travel to Worcester after an eight-wicket win against Glamorgan at Radlett on Sunday. Naavya Sharma was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed figures of 4/29 as the Welsh side were bowled out for 66. Josh de Caires’ unbeaten knock of 45 helped Middlesex chase down the target within 10 overs, sending his side to the top of Group B.
Another player that has stood out for Peter Fulton’s side has been Noah Cornwell; he’s averaging 12.6 with the ball in the One-Day Cup this year. His best figures of 3/1 came in Middlesex’s victory over Glamorgan. Luke Hollman is still unavailable whilst he recovers from injury.
Tomorrow’s opponents won the competition last year after defeating Hampshire at Trent Bridge in the Final, and have continued their form into this year’s campaign with two wins from three this year, which sees them occupy fourth place in the table.
Henry Cullen has been one of the standout players so far this campaign for Worcestershire with 154 runs. Fateh Singh has 9 wickets to his name so far, the most in Group B.
These sides last met in 2024, where Worcestershire came out on top by 183 runs, thanks to centuries from Ed Pollock and Gareth Roderick.
Tomorrow, both sides will go blue for Bakes as Worcestershire raise money for the JB33 Foundation in memory of Josh Baker, who sadly passed away in 2024. Both sides will warm up in ‘Blue for Bakes’ t-shirts, with all spectators encouraged to wear blue. Players will pause in the 33rd over of each innings for a moment's applause.
