FINTY TRUSSLER COMES IN AS INTERIM CAPTAIN FOR MIDDLESEX WOMEN

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that Finty Trussler has been appointed as interim captain for the remainder of the season, with Saskia Horley being unavailable for a short period of time.

Since joining Middlesex ahead of the 2025 season, Finty has become an important member of the squad, bringing consistency, composure and leadership both on and off the field. Her most memorable moment in Middlesex colours came at last year's Vitality Blast finals day, where she struck two unbeaten half-centuries to help her side lift the trophy. Prior to joining the Club, she represented Hampshire and Southern Vipers, where she made her mark as one of the country's most promising young players.

Finty now steps into the captaincy as Middlesex continue their campaign, with the Club confident she will lead the side with the same determination and professionalism she has shown throughout her time in a Middlesex shirt.

On being appointed interim captain, Finty Trussler said:

" I'm really excited to be given the opportunity, I've done it a couple of times before and I'm looking forward to working with the team and getting the results we need."

Women's Head Coach, Mark Broom, said:

"It was almost a no brainer. We chose Finty because she ticks all the boxes, she wants to do it, she wants to lead the side, its a great opportunity for her to learn. She has been working with Saskia on the pitch, always offering her suggestions.

"We have every faith in her, we back her completely the players are behind her. I'm really pleased for her and she's excited."
