Men’s Head Coach Peter Fulton has named a squad of 13 for tomorrow’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Sussex Sharks at Radlett CC.
There’s one change from Middlesex’s win against Derbyshire Falcons on Sunday, with Eathan Bosch coming into the squad to replace Henry Brookes, who is being rested for this one with a sore hamstring.
Middlesex have already secured their place in the knockout stages of the competition, and a win tomorrow would mean Middlesex finish top of Group B. Middlesex will still finish top should they lose tomorrow, even if Durham or Yorkshire win, unless they are unable to overturn their net run rate deficit.
If Middlesex finish top, we will have a home semi-final on Sunday 16th August at Radlett CC. Second place would mean a home quarter-final on Friday 14th August at the same venue, and should Middlesex finish third, their quarter-final would be away.
Sussex Sharks are not able to make the next stage of the competition; they’ve registered one win so far this year, which came against Essex late last month. Despite this, Charlie Tear has impressed with the bat for the Sharks this campaign. The 22-year-old has struck 364 runs at an average of 52. Fynn Hudson-Prentice is the leading wicket-taker with seven to his name.
These two sides last met in this format at the Home of Cricket last year. Runs from Sam Robson and Joe Cracknell meant Middlesex came out on top in that one by five wickets.
Play is scheduled to get underway at 11 am tomorrow. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online in advance HERE or at the gate. If you can’t make the match, you can watch our free enhanced live stream on the club’s YouTube channel or on the Match Centre on the Middlesex website.
