Middlesex Women finished top of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup League 2 table after a dominant 10-wicket victory over Glamorgan Women at Radlett Cricket Club.
The victory not only confirmed Middlesex as league leaders, but also secured Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women as their opponents in next Sunday's semi-final at Radlett. Middlesex will now head into the knockout stages with home advantage and plenty of momentum following another commanding all-round performance.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, Glamorgan were bowled out for just 94 in 31 overs, with Saskia Horley producing a magnificent four-wicket haul. Middlesex then made light work of the chase, reaching 100/0 in just 15 overs, with Artemis Downer striking an unbeaten 60 from 50 balls and Riva Pindoria adding an unbeaten 27.
Glamorgan made a difficult start after choosing to bat, with Middlesex's bowlers immediately applying pressure. Siya Nanavati struck twice during an impressive opening spell, dismissing Daisy Jeanes for 13 before removing Megan Sturge for 12.
Lauren Turner also made an early breakthrough, bowling captain Lauren Parfitt for five, while Glamorgan were reduced to 21/3 after just 7.1 overs.
Middlesex continued to control the innings as Glamorgan struggled to build partnerships. Hannah Davis kept things exceptionally tight with figures of 0/12 from her six overs, while Rachana Cambampaty claimed the wicket of Megan McColl for six.
The breakthrough that opened the door for Middlesex came from Saskia Horley, who dismissed Bethan Gammon for 26. Gammon had provided some resistance with three fours, but Horley's introduction proved decisive.
Horley then took complete control of the innings. The all-rounder removed Gemma Porter for two before dismissing Georgia Davis and Katy Cobb in quick succession, completing a superb four-wicket haul.
Horley finished with outstanding figures of 4/27 from eight overs, including three maidens, as Glamorgan slipped from 70/6 to 83/9.
Issy Routledge then completed the innings when she bowled Eve Jackson for 18, leaving Glamorgan all out for 94 in 31 overs.
Middlesex's response was likely to be positive, but Downer and Pindoria made the chase look remarkably straightforward.
The opening pair brought up their 50 partnership from 62 balls, with Middlesex reaching 50 in the 11th over. Downer then accelerated towards an excellent half-century, reaching the landmark from just 48 deliveries.
Downer continued in dominant fashion, striking nine fours and two sixes during an unbeaten 60 from 50 balls. Pindoria provided excellent support at the other end, finishing unbeaten on 27 from 40 deliveries with four boundaries.
The pair eventually completed a superb 100-run opening partnership from just 90 balls, guiding Middlesex to 100/0 in 15 overs and completing a comprehensive 10-wicket victory.
The result means Middlesex finish the league stage at the top of the table, underlining their consistency throughout the competition. They now turn their attention towards the semi-finals, where Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women await at Radlett next Sunday.
Horley's outstanding 4/27 was the standout bowling performance, while Downer's unbeaten 60 led a clinical chase. Together, they ensured Middlesex ended the league campaign in emphatic fashion, finishing top of the table and securing home advantage for a semi-final against Northamptonshire.
