- An inclusive, well-run pathway from early engagement through to the Academy that produces players for both senior squads.
- More players going on to England, franchise, and representative cricket.
The breadth of the role includes:
- Shaping the long-term cricket strategy and making sure it fits with the club’s wider financial, commercial, and operational plans.
- Building a high-performance environment where players and staff are both supported and stretched, with player welfare at its heart.
- Overall responsibility for player recruitment, retention, and contracts, including overseas player strategy, within agreed

- Working collaboratively with both head coaches to take responsibility for the cricket department budget, and preparing investment cases for players, people, facilities, and equipment.
- Workforce and succession planning across playing, coaching and performance staff.
- A long-term facilities strategy, working with venue and facility partners to secure the right training and playing access now and in future.Reporting to the Chief Executive, and the Board, and representing the club with the ECB and across the ECB, MCC and wider game.
We would particularly like to hear from you if you bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in professional or elite cricket, including significant time in senior roles.
- A record of developing and supporting senior coaches, performance staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of turning long-term performance plans into results on the field
- An understanding of player recruitment, player development, and the step from pathway to professional cricket
- Sound financial judgement and experience of working with a Chief Executive, a Board, and committees.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, player welfare, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Knowledge of ECB structures and the County Partnership Agreement, and experience across both Men’s and Women’s cricket, would also be helpful.
