MATCH ACTION FROM DAY THREE AT THE OVAL AS MIDDESEX TAKE CONTROL

A brilliant spell of bowling from veteran Middlesex seamer Tim Murtagh, which saw him take 5 for 47, saw Middlesex take control of proceedings at the Oval as Surrey were knocked over for 282 on day three, trailing Middlesex's first innings total by 65 runs. The Middlesex batsmen then built a commanding second innings lead to head into the fourth and final day on 184 for 3, leading by 249 runs, with both Nick Gubbins and Martin Andersson unbeaten on 49* and 35* respectively.
