SUNRISERS AND MIDDLESEX SUPPORT GOT YOUR BACK INITIATIVE

SUNRISERS AND MIDDLESEX SUPPORT GOT YOUR BACK INITIATIVE

Sunrisers and Middlesex Cricket are excited to support Take Her Lead’s new Got Your Back initiative, which launches this morning.

Got Your Back will support women and girls through their journey in the cricket world, having been developed through research undertaken across the game since last summer.

Sunrisers and Middlesex Cricket have worked closely with the charity throughout this project, having become the organisation’s Founding Delivery Partner in 2022, with a number of their insight workshops delivered by Sunrisers and Middlesex players. The partnership also saw Sunrisers Academy proudly wearing the Take Her Lead logo on the front of their playing shirts, and Sunrisers x Take Her Lead caps sold across the Sunrisers retail range.

Speaking of the growing partnership, Danni Warren, Sunrisers Regional Director of Women’s Cricket said:

“Some of the most enduring images of female sport over the last 12 months, including those of Sunrisers’ own Grace Scrivens and her teammates at the recent U19 World Cup, are those where the collective come together as one. These moments inspire people of all ages and abilities to continue their own sporting journey, living their unique experiences with those around them.

Everyone at Sunrisers will have their own story of family, friends, coaches, teachers, and many more, who have had their back both through their successes, and the more challenging times. We are fully committed to supporting Take Her Lead in sharing this message as wide as we possibly can, to show all those who play, support and drive women and girls cricket that they are part of something special.”

About Take Her Lead

Take Her Lead has been founded by Isa Guha in honour of her mum, Roma, who believed in empowering all people to thrive in life - irrespective of their background, identity or ability - “forwarding people” in her own words. Take Her Lead is forwarding this vision by working to enable a more inclusive environment for women and girls across the game. They aim to connect women and girls with role models, amplify their voices to ensure our game reflects their needs, and empower them to fulfil their potential and thrive, within cricket and beyond.

We believe cricket is a place for every woman & girl. We're on a mission to make sure she has the best possible experience - wherever, whenever & however she's involved.

We've spoken with hundreds of girls across cricket to hear about their experiences & ensure their voices drive this mission. We have heard so much about why they love cricket and the positive impact role models have. But we’re also still hearing too many stories of girls feeling isolated and inferior as females in the game.

In response to all we've heard, Take Her Lead is proud to launch Got Your Back, because we want women & girls to know just how big the global cricket community surrounding them is.

Got Your Back is our way of saying that we see you, ensure every girl knows they’re part of our team, and channel their voices to change cricket for the better, together. Through the initiative, we aim to celebrate women and girls across the game, show that her experiences are heard and shared, and enable her voice to influence a positive future for the game.
