NATIONAL GROUNDS WEEK | PITCHPOWER APP

NATIONAL GROUNDS WEEK | PITCHPOWER APP

As part of National Grounds week, we are speaking to some of people involved with looking after our cricket pitches across the game in Middlesex.

Today, however, we are focusing on a piece of technology that can help clubs carry out sport-specific grass pitch inspections.

The PitchPower app will be free to use and launched at the end of March. This app will be used initially be used by County Pitch Advisors, but a version will be available for clubs and organisations to use from early 2025.

County Pitch Advisors will be able to carry out assessments and reports to make necessary recommendations to clubs and organisations on how to improve the standards of their pitches, squares and outfields. The recommendations from the app will help access funding opportunities, where possible, available from the ECB's Grass Pitch Improvement Fund, launching shortly.

PitchPower was introduced to football in 2020 and the multi-sport version was launched in August 2022 for rugby league and rugby union.
