SAFEGUARDING
Middlesex Cricket acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities and legislation, government guidance, complies with best practice and supports the England & Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB).
Middlesex Cricket is committed to ensuring that all children, young people, and vulnerable adults at risk, within cricket, regardless of age, ability, gender, gender expression, race, religion, belief, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background have the right to enjoy the game in an environment safe from abuse and harm of any kind.
We reinforce the view that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility to ensure good practice not only helps everyone has the support they need when a reaction is needed, but also helps provides a safer experience through effective proactive measures.
Our policy recognises that the welfare and interests of children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk are paramount in all circumstances. Middlesex Cricket acknowledges that some children, including disabled children & young people or those from ethnic minority communities, can be particularly vulnerable to abuse and we accept the responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure their welfare.
This policy and related procedures will be widely promoted and are mandatory for everyone involved within Middlesex Cricket. Failure to comply with the policy and procedures will be addressed without delay and may ultimately result in dismissal or exclusion from the organisation.
