About Hornsey Cricket Club: Hornsey Cricket Club, located in the heart of Crouch End, London, is a thriving and ambitious cricket club with a rich history, playing in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League. We have 4 senior sides and a thriving junior section.

We pride ourselves on providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels. As we continue to grow and elevate our standards, we are seeking a dedicated, proud and skilled Head Groundsperson to join our team.


Position Overview: As the Head Groundsperson at Hornsey Cricket Club you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our busy and beautiful cricket ground to the highest standards. You will work closely with a passionate and collaborative team, contributing to the overall success and excellence of our club.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Grounds Maintenance: Take ownership of the cricket ground, nets and surrounds, ensuring they are consistently maintained to the highest standards for both practice sessions and matches, as well as hires and occasional Middlesex CCC 2nd XI Men’s and Middlesex CCC Women’s matches.
  • Pitch Preparation: Prepare and maintain cricket pitches, ensuring they are in optimal condition for competitive play.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the coaching and management staff to understand their requirements and tailor ground maintenance activities accordingly.
  • Facility Enhancement: Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of the club's facilities, including the cricket pitches, outfield, and practice areas.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and storage of groundskeeping equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in groundskeeping within a cricket club.
  • Knowledge of turf management, pitch preparation, and grounds maintenance practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other club staff and volunteers.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset.

  • A competitive full-time annualised salary between £28-34k dependent upon experience.
