Job Description – EDI Lead, Middlesex Cricket
Job Title: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead
Reports to: CEO
Location: Lord’s Cricket Ground, London and home working
Contract Term: Fixed Term, one year. Full time but will consider part time applications.
Salary: Up to £35,000 dependent on experience
Purpose of the Job:
The EDI Lead will drive the Equity, Diversity Inclusion Strategy across Middlesex Cricket.
Main duties:
- EDI curriculum – develop and deliver a comprehensive EDI education and training for all staff, affiliated league committees and officials. This will evolve over time and will form part of our core business embedding best practice
- Data collection, analysis and interpretation of EDI related data to help inform decision making within Middlesex CCC
- Community faith leadership – help with cultural awareness, training, building relationships with communities and membership development; ultimately with a view to engage all our communities and bring them to the heart of what we do
- Influence development of Middlesex in the Community as a vehicle for leading change
- Contribute to strengthening internal and external communications across the organisation and beyond
- Ensure the relevant ECB CPA (County Partnership Agreement) standards are met and evidenced
- Close working relationship with the safeguarding team including case management and investigations
- Overall strategic EDI lead across both MCCC and MitC and, in particular, working closely with MitC participation managers, leading on the development of a comprehensive online education resource for all staff, tailored to meet the needs of a range of roles, working at different levels
- Any ad-hoc duties as required
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- In-depth knowledge of the EDI challenges facing cricket
- Not mandatory, but an understanding of the recreational game, ideally within Middlesex
- Relevant University Degree/Higher National Certificate/Diploma
- Experience of working or volunteering in the EDI industry
- Ability and experience to maintain confidentiality
- Understanding of change management; how to engage stakeholders, execute communications and manage ‘change’
- Ability to respond appropriately, within the required timelines to all stakeholders
- Highly organised, will own the EDI + SG plan and will therefore need to be able to prioritise multiple activities
- Good IT skills, use of MS applications and other relevant tech (survey tools etc.)
- Good IT skills and experience of using MS platforms
The person
- A self-starter, with a real passion and drive to facilitate change that is owned by others and has authority
- Hard-working and dedicated to resolving the complexities of change management in a challenging environment
- Articulate, must be able to communicate effectively with others at all levels
