Job Title: Media Intern

Reports to: Director of Communications

Location: Lord’s Cricket Ground and other home venues

Contract Term: Fixed term (1 May to 30 September 2024) - to attend Middlesex and Sunrisers home match days. This role includes evening and weekend work

Salary: £1,000 per calendar month

Introduction to role:

Middlesex Cricket is looking for an individual to join their Communications team, on a fixed contract for five months during the season, from May to the end of September 2024

The successful candidate will have experience, or have an interest in gaining experience in the following areas:

• Working as part of the production team on the Club’s match-day live stream.
• Capturing and creating engaging content in a professional sports environment.
• Editing captured content into high quality digital content.
• Assist with creating of engaging graphics on Photoshop for digital usage on Club’s channels.

For this placement we ask you commit to attendance on all home match days, some of which are at weekends and during the evening. This placement will enable you to work in a professional sports environment at one of the world’s most iconic sports venues, and apply your existing media and digital skills to the role.

Working closely with the Middlesex Communications Team, you’ll learn and benefit from their talent and experience and you’ll develop a range of new skills and exceptional real-world examples to pursue a long career in the sports media, journalism, broadcast or digital fields.

This role offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work in an elite sports set-up, developing their skills and learning new ones.

Job description

• Filming content at training for Middlesex digital channels.
• Editing video content to produce content suitable for sharing on Middlesex channels.
• Providing support on matchdays to the in-house live streaming and social media platforms.
• Training in live stream directing to become an and important member of production team.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders within the club, including the playing squad.
• To ensure the Club’s equity, diversity and inclusion policy and standards are always upheld and always abide by the Club’s code of conduct.
• To ensure the Club’s safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times including adherence to the staff code of conduct and consistently advocating the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk at all times. Appropriate consideration must be given to safeguarding in all activities and decisions which are undertaken.
• Take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably asked.
